About Rehabilitation
Patients come to Gaylord because they have experienced acute accidents or illnesses that will probably leave them disabled in some way. Before undergoing rehabilitation, many patients and their families believe they no longer have choices to make.

But What about Now?

Most patients ask, "How much better will I get?" Progress depends on:

  • the extent and severity of the illness or injury
  • age
  • physical condition prior to injury or illness
  • family support
  • the patient's attitude
  • how hard the patient works while at Gaylord

Rehabilitation Is Hard Work

Our therapists take pride in pushing their patients to reach their maximum potential. They often tell their patients that you get what you put in to your therapy. A camaraderie develops among patients as they work out in the physical therapy gym or the occupational therapy suite that encourages the human spirit to push the body to do more.
