BILLING & ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

Accounts Receivable Specialist

Labor Grade 118
Performs functions associated with the collection of bills for patient accounts and determines collectability of balances due from payers and patients.

Qualifications: Associate¹s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination. Minimum of three years experience in hospital patient accounts environment or medical office setting required. Basic computer proficiency required. Requires thorough understanding of all types of insurance benefit plans including, but not limited to, Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Workers Compensation, and Managed Care. Familiarity with basic medical terminology, CPT4 and ICD-9, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently is necessary. Knowledge of CT Collection Law is beneficial.

HOURS:

08-03 40 hours/week (8 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday).



FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Maintenance Mechanic - Skilled

Performs day-to-day maintenance, repair, and modification of facility plant and equipment. Assists in identifying potential problems related to building systems and equipment, maintains tools and spare parts inventory, relocates furniture and equipment, and performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and one to four years general facility maintenance experience; some college level course work and/or advanced technical training desired. Requires good overall working knowledge of all trades required in general facility maintenance and experience with HVAC systems and controls. Must have working knowledge of construction and maintenance methods including painting, plumbing, and electrical wiring. Appropriate technical licenses preferred.

Food Service Assistant

This position is responsible for various patient and cafeteria meal service duties such as tray assembly, meal delivery and kitchen maintenance, including dishwasher operation, pot washing and cashiering.

Qualifications: Must be familiar with menu format, able to interact with patient, family and staff in a courteous manner and communicate pertinent dietary information to clinical dietitians and supervisory personnel. Requires the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions; limited work with numbers. Cashiering experience preferred.

HOURS:

Sr. Applications Analyst

Takes a lead role in the application support of the Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) and associated products by assessing the existing system capabilities, workflows, user requirements, options and outcomes, to evaluate effectiveness of change. Manages successfully projects in a timely manner. Proposes comprehensive options for solution to complex problems including both technical and business aspects.

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from four year college or university and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Meditech and healthcare setting are preferred. Manages day to day activity of the Meditech HCIS and associated Other Vendor(OV) software and hardware products by troubleshooting issues with users and evaluating whether a process change or a programming change is necessary. Meets with decision makers, system owners and end users to define business requirements and systems goals and identify and resolve business system issues. Mentors junior members of the dept. to improve their analytical, technical and business skills. Participates in on-call rotation and assists in the management of Help Desk calls.

Administers respiratory therapy care and life support to patients by prescription and under the supervision of a physician and the manager of Respiratory Care department.

Qualifications: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination. Requires current CRT and RRT certificates from the State of Connecticut, current CPR certificate, and the ability to draw and analyze ABG's. Computer experience preferred.

Polysomnographic Technologist

Provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, which may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, or patient care and education.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination, certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent. Requires certification in CPR and basic first aid and proficiency in Windows based software programs. Must have demonstrated ability to respond to unanticipated problems with equipment and patients, and to facilitate patient-orientated services.

Performs pre-registration, scheduling and registration functions for outpatients.

Requires good working knowledge of technical Occupational Therapy techniques, good organizational skills and the ability to think creatively. Experience preferred.
