Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a supervised program of exercise and education. Patients will participate two times a week under the care of the pulmonary rehabilitation specialist. During the eight week program, participants meet twice weekly for 90-minute sessions.

The Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is individually tailored for those who experience pulmonary diseases and related conditions which may hinder their activities of day to day living. The program is open to individuals diagnosed with diseases such as emphysema, chronic asthma, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary diseases.

Effective participation requires motivation, commitment of time and a sincere effort to achieve goals. The program incorporates sessions of lectures, discussions and exercise.

The program is designed to meet each individual’s needs. Exercise is increased to the patient’s improving ability using the stationary bicycle, arm trainer and treadmill.

  • Living with Oxygen
  • Medication
  • Medication Administration

  • The Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is managed by Gaylord Hospital’s Respiratory Care Department and overseen by a pulmonary rehabilitation specialist and respiratory care practitioners. All services are supervised by a board certified pulmonologist.

  • Decrease episodes of shortness of breath
  • Improve knowledge of the various diagnoses through educational sessions
