Sleep Services
Sleep services at Gaylord help diagnose sleep disorders resulting from respiratory and neurological causes, such as:
  • sleep apnea
  • insomnia
  • narcolepsy
  • hypertension

Some 100 million people in the U.S. regularly fail to get a full, restful night's sleep. The American Sleep Disorders Association estimates that at least 84 sleep disorders can harm personal health and endanger public safety because people are exhausted on the job and behind the wheel.

Common Symptoms

  • excessive daytime sleepiness
  • snoring
  • tossing and turning during sleep
  • trouble staying asleep

The good news is that most sleep disorders can be treated through lifestyle changes, medication, good sleep habits, continuous positive airway pressure therapy, oral appliances, surgery or a combination of methods.

Gaylord Sleep Services help diagnose sleep disorders. An overnight sleep study - or polysomnogram - is provided to patients with sleep-related breathing problems. This study provides information to assist specialists in recommending effective treatment. See "What are sleep-related disorders?"
