Sports Injury Rehabilitation

Whether you perform professionally, compete as a student athlete, or are a “weekend warrior,” you deserve expert care when your body is injured. Our therapists understand the unique needs of athletes, and Gaylord’s Sports Injury Rehabilitation program is specifically designed to facilitate your recovery as quickly and safely as possible.

Our Sports physical therapists specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of a comprehensive range of sports-related injuries. So what do you need to restore? Your speed? Your agility? Your ability to throw? Whatever your goal, the specialists at Gaylord’s Sports Injury Rehabilitation program can help you get off the sidelines and back into the game. We’re also part of the Gaylord Center for Concussion Care and can provide a plan of care that allows athletes to return to their game when it is safe to do so.

As experienced athletes ourselves, we can relate to your goal of returning to sports as soon as possible. Our highly credentialed team uses a wide range of skills to facilitate your return to doing what you love, as quickly – and as safely – as possible. Our physical therapists will keep the lines of communication open with your coaches, athletic directors, other healthcare providers and parents.

Sports Specific Rehab Techniques include:

  • Jumping Activities and Mechanics
  • Kettlebell Exercises
  • TRX
  • Slide Board Activities
  • Injury Prevention Programs
  • Resistance Band Work
  • High-resistance Sports Exercise
  • Titlest Performance Institute (golfers)

Many members of our Physical Therapy Orthopedics & Sports Medicine team are certified coaches. Currently we have triathlon coaches, running coaches, a basketball coach and several certified personal trainers. Returning to the field, track or water is almost as important to us, as it is to you. Our plans will include your sport-specific activities in order to progress your rehab and get you back to full participation.
