President's Message

For more than 115 years, Gaylord has helped patients reclaim their lives. This is our purpose — to heal the human body and inspire longevity. We are driven by patients and inspired by practitioners who are pioneers in therapy and confronting life’s most devastating moments. Each year, we earn national and regional recognition for our excellence in patient care. Patients, their families and providers choose Gaylord because they know that, using the latest technology and therapies in a compassionate environment, our staff demonstrates their Think Possible mindset and their ability to return patients to their everyday lives.

Our vision for Gaylord is aspirational. In order to be forward-thinking and anticipate the future of rehabilitation care, we must continue to expand our clinical programs, recruit the best and brightest clinicians from around the country, increase our service area through additional outpatient facilities and create new partnerships with our area hospitals and academic institutions. Clinical innovations, technological advances and patient preferences to heal at home have tilted the balance for more demand for outpatient settings. Coupled with our inpatient capabilities and strategic partnerships, we will provide the best rehabilitation services throughout the continuum of care.

This vision, our mission and future aspirations will only be possible by collaborating with business advisors, thought leaders and philanthropic partners.

Gaylord’s greatest asset is our people. Philanthropy here is built on our community of donors and partnerships. I want to especially thank Dr. Peter Buck, Founder of Subway, for his confidence in what we do. His financial support of a $5 million matching gift, will allow for the renovation of two of our patient wings. His investment will transform the patient experience both technologically and aesthetically while providing our clinical staff with a more modern, safe space in which to work and transform lives. I invite you to read about our vision and goals. I look forward to collaborating with you as we continue to expand our facility, provide the highest quality care for our patients and their families, educate the next generation of doctors, and provide research that allows for extraordinary outcomes. Join us as we revolutionize recovery and contribute to the landscape of rehabilitation medicine — where we at Gaylord, Think Possible

Sincerely,
Sonja LaBarbera
