Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on your amputation and prosthetic our team will perform all or part of the following evaluations:

  • Assessment of strength in core and limbs
  • Ability to perform daily tasks of living
  • Pain assessment
  • Gait and functional analysis
  • Medication review
  • Prosthetic assessment
  • Balance and coordination assessment

 

After your evaluation it may be determined that some other services may be helpful. These services might include:

 

  • Our weekly Prosthetic and Orthotic Service offers appointments with a team including a Gaylord physiatrist, or doctor of physical medicine, a physical therapist and a vendor.
  • We partner with cutting edge prosthetic vendors that collaborate on the latest technology options.Our clinicians partner with Hangar Clinics to co-sponsor running clinics.
  • Our 75-by-25 foot therapeutic pool is designed for people with disabilities featuring wide ledges, stairs with rails and an in-water bench for sitting while exercising.

 

Anyone who has experienced an amputation. A current member of your healthcare team can make a referral

Flexible scheduling for services on the Wallingford campus is available Monday through Friday.

We accept commercial insurances, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Our staff will work with you to verify benefit coverage and will discuss treatment costs that may not be covered by insurance.
