Experts in Complex Wound Care

Upon admission patients with complex wounds undergo a complete skin and wound assessment. Our approach to treatment focuses on existing issues – especially non-healing and slow-to-heal wounds – as well as the prevention of new wounds. Teams consist of a physician, nurses, physical therapists and registered dietitians, with an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) certified in wound care to coordinate care. We are skilled in helping patients with multiple medical/surgical issues that result in difficult-to-close pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and wounds due to acute or chronic illness. We also believe in educating the patient and family as a way of protecting skin breakdown in the future.
