The Exercise for Life Program or EX4L is a FREE community group exercise class for people of all ages with physical disabilities. The EX4L program provides a unique opportunity for those with physical disabilities to work with exercise specialists, under the supervision of physical therapists, in a modified, or adaptive gym setting. We aim to help individuals EX4L in functional fitness through strength, endurance, power, and flexibility.
Aspects of the program: High-intensity • Circuit-based • Various push/pull progressions • Core training • Various specialty programs (yoga, dance, pilates, and more!) • Instructional lecture series
The program is held Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. & Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at Gaylord PT in Cheshire. You can attend either session or both depending on your schedule and needs.

Do I need my doctor's permission to participate?
No, you just need to fill out the registration form to participate.
Am I eligible to participate?
If you have any physical impairments or limitations due to a long-term condition such as amputation, stroke, traumatic brain injury, or spinal cord injury or disease, you are eligible to participate.
Do I need exercise experience to participate?
No, you do not. You will be working with exercise specialists and physical therapists who will help you get started and teach you the safety and proper techniques all of the exercises. They will guide you throughout the whole program on how to safely progress and help you meet your goals.
Can I be currently in physical therapy and still participate?
Yes, EX4L is not a rehab program, but a group exercise class that is a great supplement to an already developed rehab program.
When are classes?
Classes run Tuesday evenings 6:30PM to 7:30 PM and Saturday mornings 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 1154 Highland Avenue, Cheshire, CT.
