WALLINGFORD, CONNECTICUT, November 2, 2020 — Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, a nonprofit rehabilitation-based healthcare system, announced the promotion of Tara Knapp to vice president of external affairs.

Knapp, a Gaylord employee for 18 years, will lead the institution’s marketing, public relations, government relations and legislative advocacy efforts. The Wallingford resident will play a vital role in steering external communications as Gaylord continues to grow as a regional and national leader in rehabilitative medicine.

“Gaylord is entering a very exciting and dynamic period in our history,” she said. “I am delighted to be leading the charge on this initiative and I truly believe that there is no limit to Gaylord’s potential.”

Knapp began her career in 2003 as the director of development, soon becoming vice president of development and later vice president of development, public relations and marketing. Along the way she has initiated two capital campaigns, new branding standards, two new websites and has increased Gaylord’s statewide and national visibility.
