Early Recovery from Brain Injury and Stroke at Gaylord

Within our inpatient program for brain injury caused by an accident or illness or a stroke, is a track known as the Early Recovery Program. It is available for patients who are not yet able to engage in an aggressive therapy schedule, but are expected to progress to a traditional, intensive rehabilitation program. Patients in the Early Recovery Program are guided through therapies that can take them from post-coma to community reentry at a rate that is conducive to their individual recovery.

Every patient is different, so rehabilitation must be individualized. Our inpatient program supports each stage of recovery. At Gaylord, rehabilitation is physical, emotional, and social. The goal is to achieve maximum personal independence and a reentry to the community.
