Experts in Neurological Rehabilitation
Neurological impairment, whether from illness, accident, or injury, requires a personalized plan for rehabilitation. In terms of clinical excellence and human compassion, Gaylord ranks among the nation’s best at enabling patients to achieve their goals.
Plans are personalized and based on realistic targets for mobility, dressing, eating, memory, comprehension and communication skills. Every plan is carried out by a team that may involve occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language therapy, and care managers. Specialists in psychology, nutritional services, respiratory therapy and therapeutic recreation may also be involved. Inpatients receive from 1 to 3 hours of therapy per day from therapists dedicated to restoring personal independence.
Neurological rehabilitation can continue through our Outpatient Services after a patient is discharged from Gaylord or another facility and requires further therapy, when a patient has a neurological condition or disease, or when he or she has ongoing or periodic needs for therapy. The same team approach is taken for developing and implementing a treatment plan for outpatient therapy.
