WALLINGFORD, CONN, May 15, 2025 — The Gaylord Sports Association, a program of the nonprofit rehabilitation-focused healthcare system Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, received a $10,000 grant from the Hartford Wolf Pack Foundation in support of the Gaylord Wolfpack sled hockey team.
The Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation supports charitable programs for inner-city youth and youth amateur sports in order to enhance and improve the lives of Connecticut’s children and those in our community.
"The Gaylord Sports Association deeply appreciates the Hartford Wolf Pack Foundation's commitment to advancing sled hockey in Connecticut and their support of adaptive sports,” said Katie Joly, Program Manager of the Gaylord Sports Association.
“Their generosity will enable the purchase of essential equipment for new players, such as protective gear and team jerseys, as well as cover league and travel expenses for out-of-state games and tournaments throughout the season," said Joly.
A program of the Gaylord Sports Association since 2015, the Gaylord Wolfpack Sled Hockey Team consists of a dozen co-ed players with permanent physical disabilities. The team, which won the 2023 National Sled Hockey Championship, is part of the Northeast Sled Hockey League.
The Gaylord Sports Association is Connecticut’s largest adaptive sports program, offering 18 different sports and recreation opportunities to people with permanent physical and visual impairments.
