$10,000 Grant from Hartford Wolf Pack Foundation to Support the Gaylord Wolfpack Sled Hockey Program

WALLINGFORD, CONN, January 24, 2023 — The Gaylord Sports Association, a program of the nonprofit rehabilitation-focused healthcare system Gaylord Specialty Healthcare and the state's largest provider of adaptive sports programming, recently received a $10,000 grant from the Hartford Wolf Pack Foundation in support of its sled hockey team, The Gaylord Wolfpack.

The Hartford Wolf Pack presented the generous grant to Katie Joly, Program Manager of the Gaylord Sports Association, and Gaylord Wolfpack team members at a recent game.

"The Gaylord Sports Association is grateful for the Hartford Wolf Pack Foundation's determination to advance the growth of sled hockey in our state and for their continued support of adaptive sports to enrich and empower people living with physical disabilities," Joly said.

"Their generosity will help purchase equipment needed to outfit new players, including protective gear and team jerseys, and cover league and travel expenses for players to travel to out-of-state games and tournaments throughout the season."

A program of the Gaylord Sports Association since 2015, the Gaylord Wolfpack consists of a dozen co-ed players with permanent disabilities ranging from spinal cord injury, spina bifida, amputation, and multiple sclerosis. The team is part of the Northeast Sled Hockey League and often competes throughout the Northeast from September through May.
