Gaylord Chief Nursing Officer Lisa Kalafus Named Among Becker’s 2026 CNOs to Know

Becker’s Hospital Review has named Lisa Kalafus, DNP, MSN, RN, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, to its 2026 “CNOs to Know” list. The annual recognition highlights nursing leaders making an impact on clinical care, workforce development and healthcare innovation.
At Gaylord, Kalafus oversees nursing, patient experience and the Center for Education. Her leadership has helped strengthen the nursing workforce through the expansion of a state-certified nursing assistant academy (CNA Academy) and the creation of an LPN float pool, while advancing patient safety through virtual monitoring initiatives. Her work on a telesitting program that reduced patient falls was published in the American Journal of Nursing, and she is now helping develop a virtual nursing model for the long-term acute care setting.
