Leaders in Spinal Cord Rehab
Gaylord is CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited for all inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs and has specialty accreditation for our spinal cord, stroke, and brain injury programs. Gaylord is one of two long-term acute care hospitals in the world, and the only of its kind in the U.S., with our unique level of CARF accreditation. We are a partner site of the Spaulding New England Spinal Cord Injury Center - one of 14 Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model Systems in the U.S., which means we work with other leading programs to improve spinal injury care and outcomes. Many experts consider Gaylord to have the region's top Spinal Cord Injury Rehab Program. Behind our qualifications stands a team of compassionate experts who engage each patient's body, mind, and spirit to place optimal recovery within reach.
The program strives to maximize functional independence for every level of care

The outpatient Spinal Cord Injury Care at Gaylord use a variety of rehabilitation techniques to maximize independence and community reintegration. Our staff works directly with patients and their families to adapt to the challenges of recovering from a Spinal Cord Injury and to keep moving forward toward independence.
As a national leader in spinal cord injury rehab, Gaylord’s inpatient program combines research, technology, and human talent to create the most independent life possible for each patient. A team of specialists creates a plan based on specific goals and sets in motion the therapies that will achieve them.
