About Our Program

Experts in Stroke Rehabilitation

Stroke rehabilitation at Gaylord includes inpatient and outpatient care backed by more than 60 years of experience in the field of stroke recovery. Our specialists help patients with partial paralysis, speech loss, swallowing problems, and perceptual or visual problems to regain their strength and maximize their capabilities. We are skilled in treating patients who have other complications, such as heart disease, hypertension or diabetes. For patients of all ages who are able, we offer intensive rehabilitation through our Young Stroke Program, which takes advantage of the energy and resilience of people who plan to return to their previous schedule of school or work.

Personalized Care Plans

The program strives to maximize functional independence for every level of care

Inpatient Care

Each stroke survivor arrives to our inpatient unit with complicated needs, many questions, and the desire to know what the future holds. A clinical care team is assembled from key areas of Gaylord’s expertise. Together, the team and patient begin the work of recovery, regaining strength, speech, mobility, and independence. The rate and pace of rehabilitation is determined by the patient and his or her team, and we face the future together, every step of the way.

Outpatient Care

Making the fullest recovery from stroke demands outpatient therapy. At Gaylord, we can provide experienced therapists and advanced techniques to facilitate stroke rehabilitation at an advanced level, surrounding the patient with every resource needed to expand their abilities. Speech, physical, aquatic, and cognitive therapies are key components. Technology and its role in rehabilitation equipment is also critical. Explore our capabilities and see for yourself.
