    "Start paying attention." Those words became the starting point for physical therapist and program coordinator for Wheelchair Assessment Services Jillian Cacopardo, MPT, ATP/SMS, in her article for Directions magazine, the official publication of NRRTS. Drawing from the experiences of Alexandra and Sam, siblings living with Friedreich's ataxia, Jillian examines what accessibility really looks like for people with mobility impairments.

    The article takes a closer look at barriers that can affect everyday life, from accessible parking and public transportation to air and train travel, mobility equipment and the enforcement of accessibility standards. Jillian also explores the role of advocacy and the importance of including people with disabilities in conversations and decisions that directly affect them.
