Our care for patients unfolds on three fronts. In Wallingford, Connecticut, we offer inpatient care at Gaylord Hospital, a leading medical rehabilitation center serving patients suffering from acute injury, illness, and complex medical conditions. Outpatient Services, also on our Wallingford campus, has 30+ programs for a wide range of rehabilitative treatment. And in multiple offices across the state, Gaylord Physical Therapy serves patients of all ages seeking recovery from accidents, injuries, and chronic pain.

CARF logo

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) certification is a rigorous process that ensures programs meet the highest standards of patient care. Those utilizing health and human services will likely see the internationally recognized CARF symbol proudly displayed at many care providers throughout the United States, Canada, and Brazil.  Gaylord is CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited for all inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs and has specialty accreditation for its spinal cord, stroke, and brain injury programs. Gaylord is one of two long-term acute care hospitals in the world, and the only one of its kind in the U.S., with this unique level of CARF accreditation.

 

JCAHO LogoThe Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards. Each organization must go through a rigorous evaluation process. Accreditation and certification lasts for three years.
 

 

AAVCPR LogoAACVPR  Gaylord is accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The AACVPR Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program Certification process is the only peer-review accreditation process designed to review individual facilities.

Passy-Muir LogoPassy Muir  Gaylord is recognized as a Passy Muir® Center of Excellence because we use Passy-Muir Valves as a standard of care for our tracheostomized and ventilator dependent patients. This practice has decreased recovery time and enhanced the quality of life for our patients. Gaylord is one of 11 Centers of Excellence in the United States.
 

Vapotherm logoVapotherm  Vapotherm designated Gaylord Hospital as its first Center of Excellence. Gaylord is a pioneer in the use of heated humidification to improve patient pulmonary outcomes and is one of three LTACHs in the country to earn the Center of Excellence classification.
